are u serious? LMAOOOOOOOO

the egg was first. only reason i say that is because we, today, can create life. therefore, the egg was created then the chicken was hatched.

today we can create life.. but back then, how was it created.. i mean
you have to have a chicken to get an egg correct?
and a chicken grows inside the egg..

I always thought the chicken came first....because it would be their instinct to hatch the egg. Humans would not know that it needs to be incubated to be hatched....and if/when it would hatch they would probably run around screaming and kill it and therefore ending the lives of chickens before it even began.

*scratches head* interesting theory

Mwahahahaha

It's a simple matter of defintion. Are you talking about the first egg that hatched a chicken, or the first egg laid by a chicken? The answer is obvious.

If you regard the definitions, the answer is obviously that the egg came first. The egg was there millions of years before chickens arrived. Then suddenly one day mutation ensured that wonderful tasty chickens came out of the eggs. A useful creature which we could grill and enjoy with a cold beer.

well it would quite obvioulsy be the egg that was 1st. the creature that layed the egg would have been what we no-a-days call a chicken, but something very very close to it. so it would be the chicken descentant layed the egg to give the 1st chicken.

the last part of muhahaha's eplination is brilliant. never though of the question in that way before.

So there was a little cartoon I saw, where a chicken was reading the dictionary, and he goes, "I knew it! 'Chicken' comes first!"

... get it.... Chicken comes before Egg in the dictionary... :P

Oh ya... problem solved.

The egg came first, with out it there would be no chicken. Before the Egg is the question. Before the egg was some creature that resembled a chicken and then adapted into a chicken (darwinism). That animal lade an egg and then a chicken game out of it.

Chicken comes first, it's in the dictionary, eggs can't lay themselves, all evidence points to chickens!! Besides chicken tastes better then eggs :p
