I fail to comprehend how CNN (and other news sites) give Kentucky to McCain when only 10% of the vote is counted and it is 51% - 49% and Vermont was given to Obama when 0% of the vote had been counted.

CNN is not an extream for obama.

If u want a station bias for Obama go MSNBC, or NBC, or BBC, or CBC.

CNN is as close to ne\uetrality as I can find.

Obama is projected to win Pensylvainia (sp)

Big win for him!

they are only predictions based on several factors. They add the polls, the exit polls the trend of the submitted votes and the actual votes as well as which party won it last time, to make the predictions. they are not fact until they are fact.

As Fox news has stated, its a race war.

Congrats to the Democrats and Obama,

They have swept America, on every Level,

Just as the sane among us knew they would.

Its a great day for the people of America,

Congrats to you all!

and the democratic party has turned to socialism, oh, sorry, "spreading the wealth"

im sure obama will help show the world that we rnt ignorant racist people, but his economic/tax plans r just plain ridiculous. taxing the bracket that already pays 85-90 percent of americas total income taxes even more is pathetic. take away people who have earned their money jsut because they have the ability to pay more is a terrible plan.

Don't forget Detroit, our darling model of decay. :p

When I see Ahmadenijad, Obama, Kim Jong Il, and Hugo Chavez having a party at the White House, then the poop will hit the fan.

I would agree with the above statements too, similar parallels are seen with welfare, unemployment, and health benefits in general. When you look at how the expenses go, the well off pay exorbitant amounts to support the not so well off. Whether its raising health insurance premiums to offset insurance expenses from the past year, raising taxes to fund welfare, or not pushing unemployed to get to work, spreading the wealth even further isn't necessarily the right thing to do.

once the division of wealth is at a more equal state, the middleclass will be paying the brunt of amerikas tax.

I too agree that it is not right for the top 5% to be paying 90% of the tax.

Re-distribution of wealth (er, i mean building roads, schools, hospitals, and other nasty nasty things) will elimiate the top tax bracket, and you will not longer have the ridiculas problem of inequality mentioned above.

A doctor and other such professions should be the highest paid profession\, making 10 or 20 times at the most minimum wage.

Not these venture capitalist making 100-1000 times minimum wage income levels.

they should make more than minimum wage because those r higher risk jobs. thats why alot of fortune 500 company CEOs end up committing suicide because of the extremely high stress levels due to the risks u must take

yes it would be nice to make a little more money for doing the **** jobs no1 wants but not at the expense of others

Obama is half white, half black raised by a white mother and white grandparents. also the minorities are still the minorities.

Bright

Believe me, race will come out, now that its literally in the forefront of things now.

The race issue was the elephant in the room during this entire campaign. There will probably be some complaining and misdirected anger here soon, possibly with terrorist action from here or abroad.

After tonight, the US will be all the more under the world's microscope, while we as a people examine ourselves a day at a time.

Global fluffstorm '09- I'm calling it right now. :D

just because its not physically demanding doesn't mean it's not hard... Imagine yourself a ceo responsible fortune 500 company and keep profits up and 1000s of jobs, etc
Sure their pay can seem ridiculous but it doesn't mean its not stress free.

I too prefer a physical job.

But we were talking about risk.

What is more risky:

-Standing on a 20 foot ladder in the wind with a motorized hedge trimmer.

OR

Investing in some new equipment.

I suppose if you value Money over life and health then ok, the CEO uis taking big risks.

personally I value health a heck of alot more.

No one every speaks of the risks normal workers take every day!

I don't want to hear the race card being played anymore as tonight should mark the end of it. No one can use the "Oppressed ppl" in this country again, as if a Black man can make the presidency of the United States of America, there is no limits to what can be done.

the USA has an estimated population of 305,579,000. 213,005,467 may vote in the elections. In total 117.000.000 voted of which 62+ mil are for Obama.

So the man only got 29,1% of the votes from the whole country. mcCain only got 25,8%.

Which leaves to conclude that only just over 50% voted for the president of the USA. 45,1% didn't even care to vote.... If i'm right I find this a really low turnout rate

I got my information from: http://elections.gmu.edu/Turnout_2008G.html

Race was a factor both ways....many voted for ONLY because he is black and many voted against him ONLY because he is black. The short and long of it is he is our President-Elect. He and he nearly super-majority have a chance to prove whether their philosophy works and can "bring change" I will say two things about this, first- If he and congress DO bring change and things are groovy, then hell I will vote for him in four years myself and second- if he and his blue congress do not bring change and things get worse, you will not see a Dem president or majority for several years. The only reason he and congress had such a victory is because the people wanted something different and they figure he is the one.....I am not convinced of this and I am confident that he will crash and burn
