Next set bonuses will return to the game. Any member who has a premium account will receive there bonuses automatically.. The rest will have to click on the links to receive them.

I thought i would try something new with the links as well. Any nation who currently has and outside forum and would like to advertise it to gain more members can purchase a bonus link space inside the game for a small fee each month. There are 6 total link spaces. 2 of the 6 will be voting sites. Which leaves 4 available. And these 4 are daily clicks. So that means your forums would be viewed many times a day.. (don't have the exact count at the moment)

I would also offer this same deal to any member who has a web page and would like to increase traffic..

If you are interested please send me a PM with what you have in mind and i'll quote you a price..

Thanks

Also....

Another phase of the overall change to NW will be the foreign relations section. There will be a few new things added and changed around.
One part of this will be a new declaration called "retaliation". So now when a nation has to do a retal, they no longer need to go to war to get it and it also will help people know that's it's not an all out war, just a simple retal. I am 99% done with this part of it, so if all goes well, it will be implemented next set.

When selecting a retal, it will still only cost you 2 turns per attack. And you will be able to end the conflict after 1 hr. The last thing for me to decide on is a limit for retaliations. (ie like 100 attacks and then you have to declare war if you want more) to keep it from being abused.. It's purpose is a smaller scale declaration to get the retal.. :-)

I have a few more things that may or may not be implemented next set.. All depends on how fast i can get things done..

thanks

Its about time bonuses come back :P

But personally, I think that the links should be voting sites to help increase member count even if just by a couple.
Having a link to other nation's forums won't bring in any members.

dont know if you ever looked at the voting sites that we had in WoW but those types of sites were ones where the only people who ever went on them were the people voting for there own game. so the amount of members gained was VERY small from there.

the pay for your own sites to be advertised instead is a good idea. brings in some revenue into the game......and hopefully the advertising department :D

I think your getting the pictures.

the voting sites are for SEO purposes mostly, but the advertising rev would help us more effectively market the site in proven markets like ppc.

I think the vote sites do get us some clicks though...some of our game profiles are viewed quite often, and we do get "some" traffic from them.

The only bad part is that when searching for games using keywords any of us would those game directories are directly competing for the same traffic we are. So not only do we have to compete with them, but we have to give them traffic too just to be included...rock and a hard place, but long run i think its best for us to be included if for nothing just to have a decent inbound link which will make us look better is the SE eyes.

I hope not,
especially if any of you chose the site...

How could you think such things, Warl0rd? Aren't you ashamed of yourself?

The answer is probably:
lol, nolollollol

IDK, the voting thing is indeed quite superfluous, and the advertising can mean some extra cash for the game.
I like the fact that I can get bonus turns, so I'll like december set...

I have added a little extra info to the overview screen.. Right now only the state owner can view it but i do plan on making it so when a nation leader or someone with the right privs clicks on View State Overview, this extra info will also show up. it will be a nice tool for leaders to keep track of what kind of attacks his/her members are doing.. Another suicide prevention tool..

Enjoy!

Overview wasn't working for me a moment ago.

Just checked, still isn't. :(

Mr President

What is it doing?

Green

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

But I can see my overview through the member state's page just fine.

Am I going to have to start playing through Mozilla? :P

Mr President

if you refresh when you go there it will show it..

I am working on the whole IE issue.. You also get a white page at times after you log in.. Both of these need to be fixed soon.. I really hate IE!

Funny thing is...is that sometimes the login screen does work!

Just doesn't most of the time. :)

And refreshing still isn't working on the overview page. -_-

I'll log in through Mozilla!

IE seems to mess up every time you pull more then one source.. If i put the extra info as it's own file with it's own link then it all works just fine.. I guess i could do that as a quick fix for now.. I just really wanted it on the overview page..

I'll keep searching for IE fixes..

Mr President
11-07-2008, 21:41
Please let me know if you are still getting the white page for the LOGIN part.. I removed some things and so far all the IE testing i have done with it, works fine for me..

I just made this change.. So let me know in the days ahead.

Log-in didn't get a white screen. Mil Stats and overview are down atm it seems though.

Correction, military stats just gave me the full overview things I was seeing on Mozilla. lol

Overview is working now.

And military stats has the overview and the stats! -_-

Mr President

some top notch HTML'ing (???) there Bram
lol,
that's the entire point, Anton. Hahah! see? That's the same thing, but with BB-codes. Using codes that don't exist to express a feeling or to make something clear.

I work with Chrome now (way faster than FF + if it crashes, you can just refresh the page and you go "what crash?" )
let's just say that some things are kinda messed up, but not on this site.
Btw, Chrome has this really awesome feature : you can change the size/shape of textboxes yourself. This textbox (quick reply) is rather small, I think. So, why not enlarge it? click-drag-drop and done, it's bigger now. no more scrollbars etc.

only thing I miss about using firefox on this site is AdBlockPro ... now I have to watch all these stupid ads...
should ask me dad if he wants to buy me prem...
or if I can borrow his visa-card :D

Mr P. you have made so many changes to this game that i bet people who haven't played it for several years might struggle to recognize it (just a bit)...but may i saw that each one just keeps improving the game more and more. keep up the good work

i think the attacks should only go as far as 25-50 tops 100 seems to much especially for a retal...its usually 5AA's and like 2-3 SA's mayb 10AA's sumtimes depending haha so i think 50 would be perfect since u have to do regular attacks on other states that arent part of the retal

Divine Intervention

some possible suggestions for the Retal feature:

1) After declaring the retal on the nation in question, have a scroll down box appear which specifies which state is being retaled on (and have this appear in the announcement for the retalled nation e.g: Nation Example [EG] has declared a retal on state xxx (##) ).

2) make the 2 turn war attacks one way.
