I just noticed somthing...

Up until Nov 5th, Obama looked very presidential, and, vibrant in all the photos of him in the general Media.

the last few days I have noticed the photos in the press are less, complimenting.

Its as if now that he is president (elect), the press see fit to publish a less fake image.

LOL

How many presidents actually come through on their promises.
Its no longer by the people for the people.
Now most of the politicians are giving themselves undesrved raises for sh*ts and giggles.
I dont normally get involved in political discussions because pretty much most of em suck.
I believe if I heard right all politicians get their own personal car and driver for use while elected and dont have to pay for much of anything how the fluff does that work.
I work for a fluffing living and i have to pay for all my stuff and I dont make nearly what they make.
Fluff the politicians.

I will be waiting for:

-immigration reform

-Social programs

-redistribution of wealth

-Universal health care

-Pulling out of Iraq

Thoese are the major things I can remember him promising.

Frankly, if he doesnt do these things, (in a timely fashion) he is just like GWB (possibly worse, because unlike Bush, Obama is not a Monkey, or closely related to one, and has a brain)

He has 4 years. thats alot of time.

lmao let the miracles commence huh

Most of those issues won't be resolved for 10 to 50 years if we're lucky. He should concentrate on how to get the economy back up first and then onto world peace:drool:

Exactly. Obama JUST providing stability alone, would be the equivalent of a much needed miracle.

4 years is no time at all in the bureaucratic arena. (which should make you wonder, just how and why there was a "bail out plan" almost already waiting....)

1. Call amnesty for all illegals, create a more open and legal system.

2. Create social programs, reduce welfare output.

3.+Capital Gains, create a society in which effort givein = income level.

4. Create universal health care

5. Pull out of Iraq.

6. Begin a surge towards Clean energy

...

He should be able to accomplish all of this in 4 years

1. There are conservative democrats in Congress

2. Senators who barely won aren't going to risk losing it for supporting most of those issues.

3. The president is not the one that pass laws. The only thing in his power is how to handle the wars.

4. From what I've heard is that when President Clinton was first elected he was very much to the left until 2 years later when the democrats were kicked out for taking the government to far to the left so that's very much on the minds of the current Democratic majority Congress and hopefully Obama's too.

It's a lot easier to destroy then it is to build so bring those expectations down.

My, things have changed Esco.

:)

Very good to see. And I agree whole heatedly. It's unfair to expect or demand wide sweeping immediate "change". Bureaucracy has the power of inertia. IF a man could wave a magic pen and "make it so", many many things would be different. But even in a majority controlled government, there is a lot of tightrope walking, and a clear plan for how to take the steps forward is needed.

Stability, and a confidence building public image is the first step needed.

Already WE, the USA, have "overnight" improved our standing in the WORLD due to Obama winning the election. THIS alone is one of the MOST important things that will happen in his term.

USA can not behave as if the world stage does not affect us, that attitude has damaged our plans terribly. Having a person that the world can embrace, and feel confident negotiating with, is a powerful tool towards USA being able to achieve our AGENDAS.

Chances are, Obama will try to address the war in Iraq, and the failing economy before anything else. BOTH, are way bigger then one man.

Regrettably, Iraq has become so political that I'd be surprised IF they come up with the right answers. It's a festering mess. Democrats will be pushing for immediate withdraw, which is irresponsible at this point, BUT we can not go on as we have been going either. Bush is a piece of Poop.

Economy? I hope they don't try to catch it as it falls... they've been slapping band-aides on it for over a decade, and it needs to crash down to the ground so that no one puts faith in any of the things that put us in the mess we are presently in...

Redistribution of Wealth? Scares me... and No, it'll never go far. Reflex is amazingly powerful in this nation. Sure things will change here and there, so good ideas will emerge, but it's a process of trying to slowly direct the flow of things, rather then trying to build a wall in the middle of a raging river.

yeah since universal health care is so evil,

clearly medicine should be for the rich only,

why would u spend money healing the citizens of America, when you could spend it killing people across the ocean, breeding hate, and destruction.
