Perhaps he was black... but at this time, Blacks are considered equals in the eyes of christians.

Gays are not.

quite a few people in that regeon were dark skinned.

I think he was married....just my opinion, no factual backing. Speaking of gays and marriage...it was littered in the bible that paligamy was typical, which is not what we today consider a traditional marriage, so why cant we let homosexual people get married.

Not to even mention that there is a two types of marriages. One which the church considers legal, and one which the state considers legal. I dont think homosexuals care whether the marriage is in a church or a court house, so wtf.

The 2 types of joining is a good point. its a public statement of a personal thing...

I just found it disturbing how several states recently passed measures to ban gay marriage... :-(

The basis of these bans seem to be religious, but any honest religion should teach tolerance, and freedom...

not oppression and control...

:-(

Not going to comment again on the gay marriage thing, I have already in another thread so if you wnat to know what I think, look it up.

On the Jesus part, if you were to look up the Gnostic Gospels, you will see that there were more than Matthew Mark Luke and John. There were gospels written by most of the apostles and one even by Mary Magdellin herself. In those gospels, it is written that Jesus and Mary were Companions and in the ancient sense of the word, Comp[anion meant spouse. It is also believed that they produced a female child.

The Church, Catholic Church, has sought to bury this knowledge and has done a pretty good job of it too. I believe that as was stated in the bible the Jesus was God made man. And if Jesus was truly Man, how could he not have the ssame emotions and feelings for a woman that any other man has. Why is it that he could not have the paternal feelings of any man.

If we are to believe that Jesus was truly a man, then he has to have had all the same emotions and urges that any other man has had.

Just because the Gnostic Gospels were not chosen to be put in the bible, does not make them any less valid that the ones that were included.

Do I believe he was Gay? No I do not, as if he were gay, would he have spent so much time with Mary as he did.

lol, you never stop amazing me, -Z-...

Love the thread, but : Jesus wasn't gay. The Spartan soldiers were gay, A lot of Roman emperors were gay, a lot of world-rulers were gay, a lot of great writers/artists/... were gay,
Hell, even I'm gay.

Why wasn't Jesus gay, I can hear you wonder... Because he's the son of god, duh. God made his son so perfect, that he could never be gay... That's a sin, you know.

The prostitutes killed by Jack the Ripper were gay, but in the old sense of the world, meaning that they enjoyed having sex ... wtf? So I'm actually the only one on this forum enjoying that XD lol no...

@Dogma: we should be thankful some of these apocryphal texts survived two millenia ... A good thing the Church didn't get their hands on all of them :)

@Maggio: I can marry, I don't care what happens in America; as long as I am respected & equal to others in my own country...
Just remind me never to go on holiday to **can't remember the names of the countries... one was in Africa, one in Asia**, where it's illegal to be gay ... o_O
... ooh, don't forget Iran, where I'd be hanged '-.-

@-Z-: if you want a religion that truly teaches tolerance, become a Hindu... They tolerate other religions etc. so good that they just think that these religions are all part of hinduism...

@whoever did it: thank you for removing that awful smiley on the word "gay" ...

Poor taste to use a sensationalist shock directed towards a great teacher, IF NOTHING ELSE.

Jesus was married anyways. BUT there is also a few passages that may suggest "interesting relations" with one of the men he traveled with. Did a little into it, and you'll see it as a possibility in the transferring of "secret wisdoms".

Could have picked much more appropriate "targets" as Bram pointed out.

Shabaz K

lol i still dont if jesus was a son of mary or husbad.

Grendel Khan
11-20-2008, 22:03
Both.

But the second "Mary" and the third "Mary" could have been additions of name to slightly confuse the message. But as is he was born to a Mary, and married a woman named/titled/called "Mary", who also appears to have been the third Mary that was sister to Lazarus, who later was renamed John the disciple that Jesus loved most. Interesting if that was because Lazarus/John was the brother in law to Jesus, after Jesus married Mary, or because Jesus was willing to share Gnostic understanding as "Secret Wisdom" with Lazarus, who then became John.

-- An interesting aside about Lazarus "dying" and being resurrected from the grave, is that this is also prevalent in most shamanistic principles of being reborn into wisdom.

Hell, even I'm gay.

Spartan Soldiers couldn't really be viewed as "gay", they had sexual relations with each other, BUT it wasn't as result of a "relationship", or a strong physical attraction to each other. It was a culture and a tool to create a bonding in their warrior society. A fine line I am sure, but very very different then "being gay".

Why wasn't Jesus gay, I can hear you wonder... Because he's the son of god, duh. God made his son so perfect, that he could never be gay... That's a sin, you know.

Since it's pretty much been proven that Hard-wiring is responsible for 75-90% of all "gay " people, then "God" made them that way.

The prostitutes killed by Jack the Ripper were gay, but in the old sense of the world, meaning that they enjoyed having sex ... wtf? So I'm actually the only one on this forum enjoying that XD lol no...

This made me chuckle a whole bunch, but that could be because I have devoted nearly a decade to creating a "Metal" Audio book of Jack the Ripper's Diary.

actually spartan soldiers werent gay lol it was mostly athens that did all the gay **** and that wasnt really socially acceptable. btw i am studing ancient history right now specifically greece, we currently are warping up the end of classical greece. even in most of rome, being gay wasnt accepted by the soldiers, they would kill gays. most of the gays where ur play writes and others in the city.

from what I've read and understand is that the word/concept of gay/homosexuality is a very modern thing.

in greece love between men was the highest ideal form of relationship
then there was Alexander the Great. he enjoyed men and he was GREAT!!!

anyways one of my professors told my class that there are some gays that were made into saints back in the day but I haven't looked into that myself so I don't know for sure the truth behind that.

This has got to be the stupidest thread I've seen in here. I'm glad some of you are enjoying it, but posting something for shock value just to get a rise out of people is better left to professionals like myself. Was Jesus gay? Who gives a ****? The guy is dead. If anyone is obsessing about my sexuality when I'm dead, I'm going to be pissed. If he's your lord, then he's your lord whether he's gay or not. I agree with Ranger. It's topics like this that make these forums hardly worth reading. At least some of the useless **** I post is funny.

And on a side note, topics about religion are uncomfortable for some people, as are topics about gayness, yet if I say something like "suck my balls" you all go into a frenzy about it even though it's a common expression these days, and probably offends less people than gays or the excessive jesus/god ****.

Which reminds me : we have a name for people being offended by gays, or other religions ... :

Which is, imho, a mental handicap.

@Grendel : lol Okay then, the Athens, not the Spartans. Who cares? They were all Greek and ancient.

@SmarT : Studying Ancient Greek History must be fascinating... too bad I suck at history :( The Greek were always my favorites.
The Romans are second, the Egyptians third. My ancestors, the Celts, fourth. Or are my ancestors Germans... w/e.

@-Z- : def not bisexual... IDK if you know that, but a lot of gay people don't like bisexuals... (That excludes me) Perhaps he was Greek, and he enjoyed the prescence of other men, whilest having woman/women as well.

They have as reliable dates for most of the Apocrypha and other Gospels as dates for most anything. (Dang, I have misplaced my notes of research of the Gospels, and have to fast research them now).

"Nag Hammadi library", or the Gnostic writing discovered in 1945 contains a collection of codexs that are also found reliably dated from other sources. Notably the only complete text of the Gospel of Thomas is found in this collection of Gnostic Gospels.

I'd Suggest anyone researching some of the Gnostic Gospels. fascinating stuff.

and so I think we have decided that jesus was in fact gay, as well as straight, and that he loved all men, not just evangelical capitalists with white skin.

or maybe he never existed...

But if he did, he was a lover of love, and all love between humans is a good thing.

ain`t Xenophobia a fear from foreigners?

So it means like you said, but it can also be used as fear of things that are new, odd or rare.
