Saturday night we had our annual Halloween party. I have my laptop
connected to th stereo amp for all the music. Well this year i had a few
more drinks then normal and when the party ended around 4 am i fell asleep
on the couch and forgot to close the the lid, and for some reason the
screen saver didn't kick on, so the image i have on my desktop has now
"burnt" into the screen.. Which is driving me crazy!

I have read where if you put the screen to an all white picture, after some
time all the pixels will start to blend in.

Do any of you have any other tips on getting back the right way? The image
i have on my desktop was a pic of the snow covered mountains in Utah
from when i was there. I can see the shadow of where the snow is when
i view any other screen lol..

To all you children out there.. This is why you should not drink. it makes
you forget to do things.. lol

having the screen with the same img for 24h doesn't burn the screen...

yeah just leave a white img for a couple of hours...

it takes a long time for an image to burn into the screen... but the white screen should do the trick if not then take it back

How old is your laptop?!? I thought Windows ME+ had features to prevent that......

i think i have had it close to 2 yrs now..

It's an HP pavilion wide screen with XP. It stayed for quite a long time with the same
image stuck on it.. I didn't wake up as early and i normally do lol.. So it
pretty much sat like that all day yesterday too..

I read that same trick somewhere warlord. And also i am going to try a
jscreenfix program.. i'll let it run over night and we will see what happens..

at my company we had 4 21" tft + 2 32" tft monitors with pretty much the same image on for 24/7 during 6 months, then we decided to shutdown during night. They are a bit burned, but we usually fix it leaving them on with a white background for a couple of days.

I left a white screen on all night and i can see a very noticeable improvement with the screen. It's still not perfect, but i doubt i will every get it back
to 100% but it is much much better then yesterday.

I will leave the white screen on for a few more overnights and see if i can
get it any better..

Thanks Warlord!

Thanks Warlord! It will be better if you find out a program that makes the screen change colors every minute, that way you don't overburn your screen...
