so i opened up my email today and got this:
My name is Marangelli Otero and I am Juan's big sister. He along with our Mom have asked me to email you all in hopes of receiving some support. Recently Juan was arrested in South Dakota after meeting with his current GF whom we all thought was 19. To make a long story short, she turned out to be 15 and is now encarcerated with a $100,000 dollar bond.
the email then goes on asking to help pay the bill for the lawyer ($5k). anyone heard of this? the email goes on in detail asking for help and also gives Artos jail address...
the contents of the letter:
Hello to all Juan's online friends,
My name is Marangelli Otero and I am Juan's big sister. He along with our Mom have asked me to email you all in hopes of receiving some support. Recently Juan was arrested in South Dakota after meeting with his current GF whom we all thought was 19. To make a long story short, she turned out to be 15 and is now encarcerated with a $100,000 dollar bond. Unfortunately, Juan and I are the only children of a single mom and we cannot come up with the funds, but I do know that a little here and there could eventually add up. I am in the process of retaining a private attorney, but that also costs money - $5k to be exact.
Some may know him on a very personal level and others may not and thats understandable. Our mother has asked me to take these steps in hopes that we can reach out to those faithful friends that will remain as such regardless of the circumstances. I am disabled and have been for the past 6 years so my help is limited. In addition, my continued desire to help him is slowed down by my failing health. This brings me to this cry for help.
I know Juan spent a lot of his time online either playing his online games with many of you, chatting, IMing, and web caming. Most of his days when he was not on active service in the Army were spent online. This is why we believe that some of you would be sympatheic to our current dilema and lend a helping hand.
Please feel free to email me at my personal email: marangelliotero@live.com to let me know if you can help or simply to see how he is doing or for what ever other reason. Also, it would be nice if you can write to him and keep his spirits up. He is found in a very difficult small town where they are ridiculous in trying to portray him as a habitual criminal. Do not include any sexually explicit material because it will not be allowed.
In advance I would like to thank you all for your assistance. If you are unable to provide monetary assistance, we absolutely understand. A letter to Juan however would mean the world to us as he is in much need of family and friend's support at this moment. It's unimaginable the loneliness that he must feel.
