View Full Version : Warning System

Mr President

The warning system is in place and i have encouraged the mods to use
it when needed.. But there is a new one i have added. One that allows
a mod to notify you when he has edited your post. It adds no points and
expires the next day. It's not a warning, it's called "Edited Post Notification"

This way you are notified who and why your post was edited.. simple huh?

below is the explanation of points..

Edited Post Notification 0 points -expires- 1 Day(s)

Spammed Advertisements 1 points expires 5 Day(s)

Insulted Other Member(s) 1 points -expires in- 5 Day(s)

Inappropriate Language 1 points - expires in- 10 Day(s)

Innapropriate Sexual Content 10 - points- expires in-15 Day(s)

10 points is an auto 5 day ban.. Only way to get an instant ban is to
post sexual content such as porn or porn links.. you know the drill!

Warnings are not that bad.. just a simple reminder that you need to follow
the rules.

The Edited Post Notification will be used 95% of the time. I like that one.
A simple reminder.. But if it continues then a warning may be issued..

thanks.

yeah it seems like a good addition (The EPN)
I see these things all show up in the moderator logs
will these logs be pruned after a certain time, to keep it a bit clean?

I expect a lot of log entries.. ;)

Should it be understood like this: Mods can't issue warnings or ban users unless the violation is covered by one of the five categories?

These are the most common violations. If you happen to figure out a more creative way to break the TOS, you can still get warned or banned for that as well.

Ok. Thx for the clarification

One thing i want you all to remember is the Edited Post Notification.

When you get one of these, the PM you are automatically sent will look like:

Warning for Mr President: Edited Post Notification

At first you will think it's a warning, but you must take a good look at it
to make sure. I tried to make it so when these were issued they didn't
say warning anywhere in it, but i can't.. I can only change the back part
of the sentence.

Mods are asked that ANYTIME they do ANYTHING to one of your posts such
as edit, or delete due to cleaning up they must issue you one of these
notifications. IT IS NOT A WARNING! there are no points and it drops
off in 1 day..

All this does is let you know what we have done to your post and why..
So please if you see one of these don't flip out thinking you are in
trouble or the mods are being to strict.. It's nothing more than an automatic PM that tells you we didn't something to your post..

thanks

second post about above reference for me..sorry.. after they expire, since they are not punishment...they should go away..

Mr President

they do go away.. they drop off in 1 day but i think i am going to change it
so they drop off in 1 hr.. Seeing you all get the PM telling you about it, no
need to keep it on any longer than needed..

I just wish there was a way it didn't have the word warning in the PM
message.. You all see that and start flipping out, then you don't even
see the part of it that says "Edited Post Notification" which is nothing
more than a fancy PM letting you know we did something to your post.

nothing bad in reminding of what mistakes you already made in the past...

well, if it is not REALLY a warning or punishment of some sort, just a notification of an edit, then it should NOT show up in your profile as a warning. i mean four statements with yellow boxes next to them makes it look bad. so :P

When Mr P gave me one as a test before the forums were opened it remained there for about 3-5 days after it expired. So it should go away shortly.
