7 dead and 2 badly wounded in Oslo. (update: 11 badly wounded, 100+ people wounded by glass etc.)
Utøya has unconfirmed deaths

What a shame. Although the guy who did it appears to be domestic, NYT reports that the "Helpers of the Global Jihad" are claiming responsibility for the attack.

Somewhat tongue in cheek, but I would bet money that he will likely be proved correct within the next fifty years. His methods however have done no favours for the right in Europe.

As for my own view, this guy is the European equivalent of a Tea Partier with a sociopathic streak. By all accounts he isn't insane, despite what his lawyer says. He planned everything to the last detail.
Of course, the governments of Europe are using this as an excuse to crack down even more on people's freedoms.

Thats a good point. That guy did not wake up one day and decided to run a personal massacre. He planned it for years, he has ideological background and more importantly, he is not alone.
Europe is creating a new kind of terrorism. Though, it's not new, in Germany, similar terrorists already have been harrasting migrants in a smaller scale for year.
I'd blame the politicians and media, since they did pour the gasoline over the fire, to have the right-wing's votes/support.
