I first found out about this when I was trying to see why some of the american tv shows im watching seem to have skipped on new content this week.

is there any similar event for e.g. FBI / Police / Firemen?

Do National Guard get included in Memorial Day? I'm guessing some must have died in US history at some point in fighting?

ya national gaurd gets in there too...And i think all the police and fireman too...Pretty much anyone serving their country...The parades we have always include the firetrucks and police vehicles.
