If you become a mod, you will go from being liked to disliked. You will be called names from time to time, pushed to the limits, bored of reading through everyone else's posts, disrespected and will be labled unfair all the time. You could do everything right for a year and then do one thing that others don't like and they will never remember how cool you really are. You will become the scum that feeds off the scum in a pond..
