You wont see this on CNN or NBC, or even CBS... But when a school principle says a prayer before an event, or promotes any religion, they sacrafice the subject.. This is an outrage!

you can sing songs and read books about everyother president, but not Obama?

Obama can not address schools, and children anymore. I thought that we used to celebrate our president.

Is it rascism that is holding us back, Is it that fact that rep dont like that a dem won?

i'm pretty sure the song they used was jesus loves me, but replaced jesus with his name.

I'm trying to think back and remember the last time a school sang a praising song like that about bush, clinton, bush, reagan ect ect ect..

I have no problem with them having a special day for him, cause he is the President of the United States. But i think this is a little off the wall. Almost feels like i'm watching a news report from Iraq with saddam in charge.

But to be fair, i don't know too much about this. Just heard some of it on the radio..

But i have to ask, why the hell do people bring up race every freaking time someone stands up against him or his beliefs? It is so annoying. The country elected him President for crying out loud.. I can't believe people still are using the race thing.

It is our right and most of all our duty to question our elected officials. Sadly this country has been a sleep for a long time and now that people are paying attention and starting to question things, they are being called racist.

great idea, let's shut everyone up and let the Govt do as they please..

The reason why it keeps coming up is because it TRUE. If you notice its white people saying it too not Black.

it can only be two things. Race, or Reps hating the fact that there is a dem in office.

Have you ever heard of a school system getting thousands of phone calls and threats because the President of the United States wanted to address them? No I dont think you have. He is the leader of the country. OUR LEADER, but I guess not to many Americans are happy about that. Remember only half of the country voted for him.

The President addressing all school children was not needed. Everything he said was redundant and has been told to children all their life. There was no need for it in my mind, that's all.

Now as for this teacher and principal who allowed this, I must say is rather disturbing. The principal has pictures of him all around the hallways and loves to talk about being at his inauguration. School is about learning, not about pushing your political beliefs on people.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things.
The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Maggio what i'm saying is, anytime someone speaks out against him or his policies, they are being racist. It can't be due to the fact that our govt was set up as a 2 party system so we debate till the best possible solution, it's cause they are racist. That is what i am tired of hearing. I understand racism still happens, but it can't be used as an excuse everytime someone stands up and says no i disagree.

There are many things that i like about his policies, and there are many things i dislike. So does this make me semi racist?

I want the best possible person in office to lead this country. My children live here and i want them safe. I don't care if the man or woman is black, white, green or purple.. But if you are going to be my President then i have the right and duty to question you if i don't agree with something your doing..

as for the whole school thing, well now that i have looked into i have mixed emotions on it. too soon to comment about it. after i think it over good i'll make a post

my kids are in school too. Did you mine that he make a speach to him? I didnt... I was brought up on the belief that you could be anything you wanted to be "even the president of the united states".

for people to protest a "national hero" is UN AMERICAN!

Presidents used to be relished, and adored...Like Truman, JFK, Washington, Kennedy, legends. We used to stand behind them, not listen to loud mouth criticts getting air time by television and radio stations trying to see more advertising.

Mr. P im not calling you anything even close to rascist, just dont jump on the band wagon because kids were singing a song about the new president.

Black: unkneeded, needed, who cares. If the president wants to address the children he has everyright, and he should be respected not disrespected.

parents wouldnt have protested bush talking to there kids cause hes a good ol boy who preached about good and evil (god and the devil)

Maggio... I thought better of you before this thread I started.. I should not have posted this as it has shown us just how racist you really are. As Ex President Jimmy Carter recently Quoted, if you are not in favor of this health care reform, you are racist.. What does that tell you on the racisim accusations being thrown around?? Especially from the Democratic party... If you are too blinded to see the corrution this administration is bringing out, I fear to suggest what I really think about your opinions. Let me remind you that this administration has refused to hear any negative imput to a health care plan.. what does that say?? I think that is very immoral and that the minority is trying to force something on the MAJORITY that is not wanted.. As for this petty song the school children are singing... That just gives proof that the cockroaches are starting to come out of the shadows lingering here in America... I believe the public schools should have prayer time, I belive they should sing Christmas Carols.. I do not believe they should teach politics in the class room.. Not towards Democratic, Independant, or Republican.... God help us.
