It is pretty hard to argue that climate change is not real (A la GWB) when things like this are happening.

climate change is real, just not man-made. our planet goes through several cycles and this is just another one. nothing short of a world wide use of nukes would have a real impact.

I don't think the question is whether climate change exists or not, because it apparently does, but rather is it just our fault? We all know about ice ages, or at least acknowledge them, but what we seem to forget or have never heard of is that throughout geological time scale there have been a lot warmer periods (Earth's climate has been warmer most of the time) and we are actually still in the ice age. There have been periods when polar caps didn't even exist. As for this island, the disappearance was more likely do be caused by erosion, which also might have been caused by climate warming (increased storm activity perhaps), but sea level rise alone would certainly not explain this phenomenon.

actually the rising sea level is not as important as the melting ice influencing the ocean currents, esp the the Golf current and the other, whos name I don`t remember now. But the trick is that both currents are actually colliding and it`s causing a distraction in the whole warm current cycling. mariners have estimated that in approximately 2-3 years the temperature in Europe may fall by 8 degrees during winters, as there won`t just be a strong enough current to bring the warm equator water and as such atmosphere (rain, snow). I know this because the gas prices are to rise and it`s bad for our business. Also it`s the reason new gas pipe lines are built across to support Europe with enough gas in the coming winters.

    fluffed up, eh?

ignorance is blessing. both those phenomena are completely opposite as Everest rising is the effect of earth movement and is not dependent on humanities actions at all and would happen anyway.

Sea is a different story as it`s not a theory but fact that industrial breakthroughs have influenced the atmosphere greatly. It`s like a slow pre-life planet evolution when the planet surface is covered in mostly vulcanos emitting great heat and SO2s, CO2s and the surface temperature being extremely high - relatively compared to carbon based life requirements
