    1. This country never had a "good old times". It's a myth. We had vietnam, Korea, Civil Rights, World War 1, World War 2, Cold War, The Great Depression. Those are just the highlights for the last 100 years.

    2. Strong Dollar? well there's different reasons for that: globalization, war, other countries aren't in massive debt or destroyed by war.

    3. Since when has the whole world loved us or respect us?

    4. Manufacturing here was too expensive for American companies and made the country less competitive in the world. this is the same for #7

    8. no need to brainwash the children to love the state

    10. You can still privately pray, I think

    11. we still have freedom of speech, ann coulter hasn't been jailed yet

    12. legal citizenship is still enforced...

    13. food, the government has put barriers to free trade to protect domestic producers. gas, we pay the least for gas, we should be grateful.

The America and the world of 40 to 50 years ago wasn't great. Although far from perfect, we're living in one of the greatest times in humanity atm.

Dogma, this is a good post in my opinion, I am impressed!

    Politicians are BS.

I agree with alot of what was said there... Some even applies to Canada.

Lets hope for somthing better to happen... Bring back some hope of some sort...

I feel that if McCain wins, things will get worse.

I only feel that Obama might , MIGHT bring some grassroots change.

maybe he is inexperienced and different... maybe thats what you need.

Obama might be as close as we can get, which is why I support him.

No, USA voted for soemone not connected to Bush, or his party, or his failings.

The people did speak though, and regrettably it was a landslide. Why I say regrettably, is because now, many will feel that their nose has been shoved in the poop.

We all knew Obama was going to win this election. It comes down to history. The only Wrinkle was the "race vote". Every other situational position pointed to a change in parties in the white house. History RARELY lies in these things.

Now the best case scenario would have been a decisive victory by Obama. That way it was obvious that the people spoke, and made their opinion heard, but there isn't as much resentment. Obama winning by a landslide is possibly even a worse case victory then if he had won by a very very slim margin.

The "change" America voted for could have been a three-headed goat with a limp.

Now what is important, is how the future unfolds, but I do know one thing. WE the USA now have a MUCH MUCH better standing in the world then if McCain had won. And like it or not, USA needs to improve both their appearance on the world stage, as well as their bearing there.
