But as the wealthier people take more advantage of all the thing provided to us by taxes such as roads, they should pay exponentially more IMO.

how do they use them so much more? they are only 1 person?

roads for example, a venture capitalist may never dirve across country, maybe he uses commercial or private flights to go places... but, he uses those roads we all built to turns a massive profit by moving building materials, and merchandise across the country, wearing those roads.

Why would a poor person pay for the construction and upkeep of roads, and bridges that he/she would never have any part in wearing down?

a wealthy man can be responsible for 1000's of trucks roaming our roads daily.

I bolded the part because I'm not sure if you are aware, but we have a thing called "Tax Brackets". The wealthier do pay a higher percentage. In fact, the top 1% of taxpayers made up for 50% of the government's tax income. That is already very high, and now Obama wants to make it even higher? People are getting punished for being wealthy and for striving to do well.

I do realize this, and I understand tax brackets.

I do not think that the wealthiest 1 in 100 people should be paying 50% of the tax collected in your nation.

No one should be that wealthy.


I believe in a more socialist system.

I don't buy this for one minute. The vast majority of tax income doesn't come from the rich at all, and I live in a country where they pay %50, yes %50 tax. The majority of tax is derived from the middle and working classes, since these make up the majority of the population.

you don't buy it? It's a proven fact here in the States, whether you like it or not. That's the way it is. I believe our highest tax bracket is 35 or 36%. 50% is indeed ridiculous. However like I stated, the wealthier pay a higher percentage than the middle class on top of having more money to tax, thus they make up the majority of our taxes already. Not a hard concept... not sure why you have a hard time believing it,

if its true it is only because of the massive divide in rich poor.

the only thing wrong with that is that there are too few rich people.

instead of the top 1% it should be the top 5 or 10% (perhaps, Im not sure what would be the best #)

so all u need to do is distribute the wealth more evenly, and your problem is solved.




In Canada the Richest of people (the highest bracket) pays around 50%


the % goes down as the income drops of course.

I`m sorry I work harder then other, spending more time and making more money. I know I should work and then give all my earnings away to people who spend their lives doing nothing. I understand, social equality and all!

I doudt I speak about you Max... unless you make 10-100 times minimum wage, like some wealthy people in amerika.

Those people do pay more tax. In most countries in the world the system is like that. But theres always a limit to how much you pay. You don`t expect that someone who earns 10000 after tax pay will have the same money left as the one who earns 100000. If they did, that just a massive theft performed by the country.

See some people know how to work one end of the system: Welfare Bums

Some people know how to work the other end of the system: Venture Capitalists, investors.

I would propose eliminateing both.




What is so different from someone inheriting 50M dollars and living in luxary off the interest from investments, Doing NOTHING, than someone born into poverty and living off walfare doing nothing.


I dont like either of these types of situations equally.

If we rid oursleves of one, we should rid ourselves of both.
